Paris and Bally's are now separate properties - strange point problem

I was just in Paris and was told that they just separated the machines in
Paris and Ballys Vegas so they are separate properties. This means if you play
in one and then play in the other, you will be tripped for 2 properties.
Also, if you eat in one, and play or stay in the other, presumably you will be
tripped for 2 properties.

I'm not sure why they did this - perhaps to ready the properties for
possible sale?

I also noticed a weird point problem on my machine at Paris. I accumulated
2000 base points, pulled out my card, and suddenly had less points. I thought
I might be missing points (again). But when the slot manager came over, it
turned out the machine was set for pennies instead of dollars, so actually
the 2000 base points I saw on the machine, was actually 1000, and that 1000 was
being correctly credited to my account. This was when I was told all the
machines had been serviced recently because of the Paris/Ballys switcheroo.

All I can say after several lost points episodes at various Harrahs and now
this, from now on I am writing down my points before I sit down and every time
I take out a card, and if points seem to be lost, immediately going up as
high as necessary to get them taken care of.

Unfortunately lost points problems happen at other casinos too, but it does
seem like Harrah's has more problems than elsewhere - perhaps because it has
so many casinos.

A $1 vs. $.01 explanation wouldn't satisfactorily explain this.

While this may not be the case here, there have been instances where a
mix of slots and vp on a machine (such as on some multigames) can
result in confusion in the point display due to the disparate tier/RC
earn rate, unless the machine is properly set up.
