Well I am headed for Las Vegas this Saturday. I am so excited! It has been a year since I have been out there. I lost my Diamond status as of March 2010. When the economy tanked two and a half years ago I had to stop going because our business slowed up. I was Diamond (usually had around 20 to 30 thousand points a year). Now I am Platinum (made that on one trip to IN) but I don't like to gamble anywhere except LV. I received an offer in the mail about a month ago from The Palm's. Never got anything from them before so I don't know why
I got this but they offered me 2 free nights In a deluxe room, $50 free play and admission to their clubs. I booked it this week as I just found out I was going to go (hubby has a business convention to attend). I have never stayed there so any advice or particular rooms to request or do you think the $20 trick would help. Maybe it doesn't even matter. Then I am staying at Flamingo for 2 nights and playing in their slot tournament. This will also be the first time staying there. I don't figure CET will give me any of their premium rooms but I am definitely going to do the $20 at check-in to see if I can get an
Upgrade. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. We were going to stay at Suncoast as my Husband had an offer but they were already booked up. I wonder what is going on that they would
Be sold out . I will be visiting Suncoast, South Point and probably the M. I especially like SP and Suncoast for vp. I will post a trip report. I just can't wait.

I'd try the $40 trick first ( ask for a fantasy suite with bowling alley ). If that dont work drop down to $20 for upgrade. If that dont work , try $5 for free shrimp coctails thrown into room package.

I won't be staying there anymore because of the downgrades. However, I sure hope you have a great time. $20 trick worked 4 out of 5 times I tried it. Fantasy tower is the best. Ask for room 8202 or 9202 or 10202 etc. They are suites, on the corner facing the strip. Great rooms, The other side of the hall are not nearly as nice.
I'm headed out in Feb and will stay one Night at Red Rock (this will mark 31 casino hotels I've stayed at in Vegas) The next two nights are at the Four Queens.
I've always been a FPDW kind of guy. I guess I need to learn a new game.

Do you really think a suite with bowling alley is possible? I wouldn't think so but that would be awesome. I would do a $50 tip for that.

I have stayed at 18 casino hotels in LV.? During the last 5 years or so I have stayed mostly at Caesars in either Augustus or Palace Towers. Since I lost Diamond, I don't get a lot of offers of free rooms at CP
