Palms stimulus check promo...

The benefit to the casino is that you have cash to gamble with, after
cashing your check. How would your showing proof of direct deposit benefit the
casino? Seems odd that any casino would give you anything of value just for
showing that you deposited a check into your bank account.

I must have skipped the post telling what Silverton gives you for showing
proof of direct deposit--is it something good? Just curious, as I don't qualify
for the stimulus check.

I don't know if anyone posted this or not. I received an e-mail from
the Palms about cashing the stimulus check there. One of the cage
cashiers said that you definately have to cash the check in person in
order to take advantage of the promo. I asked about direct deposit and
was told no. I said that the Silverton would let you do this as long
as you bring in your bank statement as proof of deposit. She just
shrugged her shoulders and said sorry.

I'm in the same boat, as (I'm guessing) are many other members of
vpFREE because of an "inflated" adjusted gross income on our tax
returns, due to the high number of W2Gs.

All I'm trying to say is that the Silverton would let everybody who
received a stimulus check who be able to participate in their
promotion. The Silverton was offering a chance to triple the amount
of the check or probably a lousy gift.

At the Palms, when I cash my paycheck, you get free pulls for
MegaBucks as well as a chance of $10K at the cage when they swipe
your card. If you cashed your stimulus check, they would treat it
like a paycheck. I'm sure that a lot of people had their checks
direct deposited and would like to benefit from this promotion.

I'm not sure what you mean by "benefit the casino". Does that mean
we should play only short pay machines since it would be to their
benefit? If that's the case, why should a casino have any type of
promo? If they're giving away something, then that's not to their
benefit. The increased play by the players would be of benefit.
