The Palsm slot tournament this week may have brought in a number of people on
the first day, but by day 2 the lines were way less - obviously day 1 did
leave a bad impression. A better run promotion would have kept the people
coming back every day.
Some of the things they could have done was keep the line size down by
running the promotion for more hours with more machines, have more random
drawings for more prizes during the day to keep people playing (you would be
awarded while you played for example), and so on.
Re baccarat tournament - apparently they did learn their lesson from last
week somewhat in that this week's 1/2 hourly drawing winners were posted so
you didn't have to keep coming back every 1/2 hour (interrupting other casino
play). However it still made no sense to me that with 60 prizes and 72 total
people in the tournament, they should have just given everyone a prize during
registration or at a later time to keep them in the casino, and done away
with the time-consuming, annoying drawings (annoying also to the people who
kept announcing the winners only to have few appear to claim the prizes). I'm
fairly certain a number of people never came back to claim their prizes in
these drawings. (The drawings were in addition to the actual tournament
play.)
