According to the head of the Palms slot club...
American Express "certificates" will be available for points earned at the
Palms from May 1 through the end of June. The certificates are accepted in
lieu of cash wherever AMEX is accepted, which is at most retailers. Or, you may
cash them in for real money at the Palms' main cage. In other words, as good
as cash! If they are used at a retail outlet, any change will be given to you
in cash.
The certificates will be offered in $25, $50, and $100 denominations at the
prevailing comp rate of 400 points/dollar. There will also be a $2 (800
points) "surcharge" for each certificate. So, $25 certificates will cost 10,800
points (.231%), $50 certificates will cost 20,800 points (.240%), and $100
certificates will cost 40,800 points (.245%).
Only single points apply. Only points earned on sub-100% machines will be
eligible. Don't know yet if they will have a large stock of certificates, or if
you must "order" them. Don't know yet if there will be a daily maximum on
redemption. The Official Rules should be available by the end of April, it is
always smart to read them before you play.
