Palms Presents for Points...

really sucks this year. It takes 800 points playing video poker to earn
$1...and then they add on 10%+ "service fee", as they have in past
years.

For example it takes 88,000 points to get a $100 Albertsons or
Southwest Airlines card. It takes 90,000 points to get a $100 VISA card.

Looks like a .11% return...cut in half from prior years.

IMHO, the Palms has gone downhill the past few years. No more double or
triple point days...but...an increased number of swiped prizes,
including such goodies as 400 points ($.67)or a shot glass!!

Well, they're feeling the burn from the liquidity crisis, too. I saw
the sheet and was disappointed too. Looks like you have the option of
the lousy P4P promo, or the likely equally lousy scratch card promo.
Pick your poison!

What is " Palms Presents for Points?" When does it take place?

Thanks.

Its the same program the Palms has had for a few years in November &
December. You can use the points earned in that period to redeem for
merchant cards or cash-equivalent cards. Included in this years cards
are McDonalds, 7-11, Albertsons and a few others.

In prior years (if my memory is correct), all days in the earning
period counted. This year its just Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In past years 400 points = $1 (just like the regular point formula),
for both slots and VP. This year, for VP earned points, its 800 = $1.

There are handouts at the booth that fully explain the program.
