I have over $1000 in palms points myself. The reason for the accumulation
is that if you live in Las Vegas and play at the Palms on 2x and 3x days with
$1 triple/five play machines, you can quickly accumulate a lot of points.
But you don't have much to spend them on, except meals. True there was a
recent promotion where you could buy gifts or even gift cards, but I didn't find
that deal to be that great. I like to keep a lot of points so I can take
friends to Little Buddah or Alize when they are in town. For example 3 friends
unexpectedly came to town and we went out immediately to LIttle Buddah and a
$120 bill was nothing to worry about.
So it doesn't surprise me you saw someone with $4000 worth of points.
