Palms Offer Question

Thanks for the previous info on shuttles/ bus routes to the Palms.

Having never played at the Palms I am interested in understanding what
offers I may get. I am an out of stater, generally 3-4 trips per year
to LV, play 100% games @ 25 cent level @ $5-6K daily coin in.

What type of offers could I expect at the Palms with such play. Thanks.

My guess is bupkus. Maybe an offer for a not that special room rate every
once in a great while. The Palms is a pretty awful play for the low to
midrolling tourist interested in scoring marketing offers. That has been my
experience anyway. Maybe as their room inventory increases they will get
more competitive.

Hi,
To my knowledge any coin in on 100%+ payback machines at the Palms
contributes 0 to any formula they are using for mailings.

Hi! Just a follow-up question ...

What do you take to be the "floor"? Namely, what is the minimum recommended daily coin-
in for a visiting non-resident to get "nice" offers from the Palms?

My experience is that visiting non-residents don't get offers - other
than a rare email for a reduced rate or a tournament. This is based
upon play about five or six days a year with avg coin-in of $40k (none
of that on DW). Similar play at several other casinos garners some
very nice offers.

My guess, and it is just a guess, is that their marketing strategy is just
not geared to out of towners. I don't know of any minimum to get nice
offers. I have never gotten any substantial offers regardless of the level
I played at. I give them occasional and modest action only now. With no CB
or marketing goodies I have been able to do better elsewhere in spite of the
superior vp at the Palms.

I don't know about that. I have a friend with houses here and in CA, and used the local
address for the Palms mailer for a couple of years for the free play and postcard offers.
Several months ago, he changed his address to the one in CA since he's spending more time
there now, and as soon as he did that, the offers for free rooms started pouring in. I don't
know if he gets other offers (concerts, spa treatments, etc), but he says he's much happier
with Palms using his CA address. He puts in a minimum of a couple hundred K each day he's
there, so maybe it's all about the amount of money he puts through.

I will make a mental note that $200K CI daily may be the bottom for
receiving a Palms room offer;-) Seriously, 200K CI is not a realm I will
enter into any time soon and I bow to your knowledge. OTOH, a room and food
for the 200K player is kind of a given. If I were a host I'd be writing
personal notes and making calls to these players. As a much smaller player
probably playing similar games with the same expectation or better, I would
be looking for cash, FP, CB, gift cards, tournaments and other things that
indicate my worth to the marketing department and, not coincidentally,
increase my ER.
