Be careful to read the rules carefully for Palms new promotion. I believe
you have to play and earn 2 entries to the drawing, then swipe on the day of
the drawing before 6:45pm (Tuesdays), then go on Wed. to get an extra "bonus
free play." You do not need to be present for the drawing on Tuesday night,
but must check to see if you were a winner within 24 hours. There is a 2nd
drawing on Sat. and you must be present to win. If no one is present, then
more names will be drawn.
The electronic "barrell" is emptied on the Sat. drawing.
This is a complicated promotion, but since you can get extra free play, it
may be worthwhile. Note if you just play enough for 2 entries you will lower
your daily average, and might end up getting less in future months.
We get $50 in free play this month for each free play date, so it may be
worthwhile for us to try to play and do the swiping and get more free play, etc.

These complicated promotions can be good for players, but also they can end
up being bad for casinos if people get confused and don't get the goodies they
are expecting. Last time Palms had this promotion a number of people
(including me) were confused about all the playing and swiping and getting extra
free play. Some people played on the wrong date, swiped on the wrong date,
and they didn't get the bonus free play and were upset.
So the best bet is to get the flyer with all the rules to something like
this and read it carefully.

At least this is better than the horrible Scratch contest last month, which
gave out cheapo, useless merchandise, then ran out of merchandise. They
reprinted the scratches which then gave a lot of low prizes such as $3 free play,
400 points, 800 points. At least that was better than the bad merchandise.
How many car washes, t-shirts, weird glasses, and water bottles do they
think people need? Light players might have enjoyed the scratch, but if you were
playing a lot of triple and five play VP, you got oodles of scratches, put
through a lot of money, and got a pile of junk.
