Palms makes a good decision regarding old points...

Well, "new customers" wouldn't have old points, right? So if they don't
understand what the kiosks are for, it doesn't hurt them at all, since they
have no use for them.

I completely agree with everything else you wrote. And I am one of those
customers with, uh, lots of old points. Stations did it right, Palms did it
wrong, but they're at least trying to make it better. And since the
investment is already made in the kiosk system, I see no reason that they can't
stay active for a few years, if necessary. At some point in the future, when
most of the old points have been used up, it is likely they will offer some
sort of deal to merge remaining old points with new ones, and get rid of
the kiosks. Or maybe it will happen sooner, who knows?

I was not clear. I meant confusing to new customers who don't know what
the kiosks are for. Other than a poor management decision, there was no
reason to separate the points as we saw at Station properties. They were
saying at the gift shop that some customers have tens of thousands of dollars
in comps. Anyone that frugal with their points could take decades to spend
them. I doubt they will keep those kiosks on the floor for over ten years
waiting for a very few customers to use up their old points. Why don't
they just admit they made a mistake (like recently when they had $10 NSUD Five
Play with 0.25% Free Play and 6X multipliers) and merge the points back
into one user friendly system?

ok...i'll state the obvious...the kiosks can probably be programmed to do more tasks than they are at the moment...
