Palms High Limits

I played the $1 NSUD Five Plays today like
most people on this list advocate to maximize BB and I noticed a lot of
familiar faces also playing these machines but there was nobody playing
the NSUD single lines in high limits. As a local who has more comps then
I can use, I would certainly prefer the 0.125% in Free Play offered on
high limits play over 0.25% in overpriced essentially useless comps.

I understand that on multi-point days you can not earn Free Play at
the higher rate. The boothling I asked about this made it sound like
play in high limits on a multi-point day would earn the standard 0.125%
in Free Play and the doubled or tripled amount in comps. Is this
accurate?

Yes. Only base points are redeemable for FP, at the rate of 800/dollar.
Bonus points on 2X or 3X point days are only good for comps at the regular
400/dollar. The usual 40,000 bonus point/day cap applies.

The brochure mentions a $5000 maximum redemption on this Free
Play. Does anyone know if this is per day or lifetime?

Daily minimum redemption is $100, maximum daily redemption is $5000. There
is no limit on lifetime redemption.

Original post was directed to locals. Anyone have any advice on best
way to optimize combined comps and ER for an out-of-towner staying in
the hotel? I normally play DW multi-play ranging from $5-$25 spin
value. I obviously don't want to play poor return games at this level
just to get comps. But am a little confused about how their system
works. I haven't been to the Palms before and appreciate any advice.
I am mainly going based on the recommendations on this board.

The Palms is nice but I don't think it is the absolute best play for
visitors since there is no cashback or mailings to visitors. Comps
are basically that you will get .25% on your card. For
discretionary comps, free room kicks in at $20,000 per day and food
starts at $30,000 per day. Would not be surprised if they have
tightened up on comps since everyone seems to be doing that. If you
plan on going back, you will most likely get NO offers from the
Palms as compared to other casinos who will offer bounceback
cash/free play, tournaments and so forth.

For the visitor who is willing to play dollar multi-play, I think
the Golden Nugget offers a better play of dollar 3/5-play JOB
with .33% cashback. Also, room and food will be easier to get.

Rooms and restaurants are just as nice at the Golden Nugget in my
opinion.
