I agree almost totally on this point. The only unfortunate thing I
see is that the Palm's is using these machines just for their own
positive publicity and not really to give the gambler much of a chance
(with the exception of the quarter FPDW progressives, which observing the
trend, probably won't survive much longer anyway). Playing 10/7 DB, 10/6
DDB and 15/8 Loose Deuces are probably break even at best without BB, CB
or promotions for the best players yet allows the casino to garner and
advertise "Best Video Poker" awards (with no asterisk that says you will
be treated like a second class citizen if you play these games). That
said, I agree totally with your previous posts about casinos not owing
anyone good plays. I just find it unfortunate the casinos never get
called on these practices.
It also bothers me a little that the current Friday and Saturday
night drawing rules do not state that play on 100%+ machines is excluded
from earning entries. All they would have to do is put it in the rules
like they did with the 2X points promotion. In this rare case, I would
rather see the games removed then for the casino to knowingly
(purposely?) mislead the gambler.
