I've been splitting my play between those and the penny JoB 50-play (usually
about $1k coin-in before I move over to the deuces) in an experiment
designed to throw them a theo bone, not sure if I'm wasting my time and my
money on the Jacks.

Your time is yours to "waste." As for the money, if you add in comp value,
plus any mailings/offers/gifts you might receive, it sounds like it should be
at least break-even. And 50-play is fun!
