Palms cuts mailers

As we and several others have noticed, Palms has cut down on its mailed
offers for April. I went to the Palms today and was told that offers were
cut for April and that the staff was "warned" to expect complaints. I was
told to call the following person for more information (and presumably
complaints) Mon-Fri normal hours:

Heidi Kimble - 942-7069.

I was told that mailings were based on 90 day play (but I don't know when
that period started or ended - it might be that April is based on Dec., Jan.,
and Feb. because we had heavy play in March and it didn't seem to be in the
mailing).

Also mailings apparently are based on wins/losses, type of machine, and
possibly other factors.

I will try to find out more from Heidi next week, but I suggest that anyone
dissatisfied contact her and explain just how much cashback/bonus money you
get for similar play at Stations, Coasts, strip casinos like Caesars, etc.,
and why you might not be playing as much at Palms if they cut back like this.
Emphasize that you can play Blazing 7s, Double Diamond, or whatever
elsewhere too!

You might also want to write to George Maloof - who might phone you back (he
did when I wrote to complain a year ago).

My play at the Palms consists of 5 or so visits in a month, during
which I play $1 DB and $2 NSUD (on triple point days) for about
eight hours total per day. I regularly get eight $40 cash bonuses,
three $40 dining credits, and other miscellaneous stuff. The April
mailing I got was BETTER than the previous ones, in that I got four
movie tix instead of two and a $50 spa credit instead of $25.

It's probable that the thresholds for smaller monthly action HAVE
been raised, and the qualification points for various levels of
mailings have been increased. It may be that my action--whether
considered on a daily or monthly basis--still qualifies for the
highest level mailing.

The trouble is, now that the "rape the customer" epidemic is in full
swing throughout Vegas, it's easier for the Palms to get away with
this sort of thing. It's a mistake, as I'm sure LOTS of people came
from across the street (Gold Coast) to play at the Palms once
the "Deuces Destruction" and the "Mailer Massacre" were started at
the GC. Now they will antagonize a whole new set of (previously)
loyal customers. Stupidissimo!

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but the best play in the
valley is now Texas/Sunset Stations, with their next-day 1%
bounceback promo.
