I don't know if the Palms players club desk will verify your point balance on the phone, but it can't hurt to ask.
If you do have any old points, they won't show on the card readers and you won't be able to use them for freeplay. All points earned prior to 6/1/09 can only be redeemed for comps by swiping your card at one of the kiosks.
