I agree with this post. Of late, all machines were giving 2 x points to
everyone on the appointed days.
I do remember, however, during the opening months at the Palms coming in to
play for 2x or 3x points as per a mailer and found that others were on single
points. I can't remember if the machine (program) was able to recognize your
card and you saw the points immediately while playing or an adjustment was made
later to the "chosen" ones.
Station casinos are very adept at giving their different levels point
multipliers so sitting side by side you can be playing for single, 2x, 3x and 4x on
the same bank based on your play. There, with the necessary swipe of your card
at the promo area, the point adjustment is made later.
I would think it would be too difficult to program "in" these various
multiples at the machine itself through recognition of your card as you begin to play.
