Palms $2 DB?

I am a frequent visitor to the Palms and was just there
yesterday. The two $2 10/7 DB machines were moved slightly
a week or so ago. They are now perpendicular to their old
location, but are still in front of the hotel check-in.
Look for the "over 100%" signs above the bank. It's now a
bank of six machines, four of which are $1 and the two on
the ends are $1/$2.

How much can be saved by renting a car away from the airport?

Renting at the airport adds 10% plus $3/day. So if you can get the same rate
off-airport, you'll save almost $40 off a one-week, $150 rental.

Hi Les

I seem to think it is cheaper to rent at airport than away from
airport. In my case, even if it would be a little cheaper away from
airport, I would still rent at airport. When I used to rent off
airport for a couple days instead of whole trip, I stayed a Frontier.
They used to run a bus 24/7 from airport. A nice touch for a small
property. Now I stay at Mirage, Stardust or LVH depending on offers.
I guess I could wrangle a limo or some type of hotel bus. But a few
years ago we started taking a taxi. Then I decided to rent at airport
for the week I usually stay in Vegas. I like having wheels. I can go
to the swap, visit the dam, go to Red Rock, drive to Laughlin, visit
friends etc. However, if I didn't have friends in Vegas and I was
only going for the weekend, I think I would stay at a strip property
and take a taxi. If you don't need a car to go somewhere a taxi is
easier and maybe cheaper.
