I've played and stayed at the Palace, and I think it is a great
place. They have NSUD and JOB from .25 to $1. The rooms are very
nice. The only other 2 hotels I've stayed at in the area were IP and
Beau Rivage. The Palace rooms are way better than IP and well you'd
be hard pressed to compete with the Beau Rivage, but they were close
in my opinion. Rooms come with typical hotel amenities - iron board,
iron, coffee maker, etc.
If you're local or able to travel there during the week the Palace
has 3x points days. I'm not sure the details but you can get them
from their website at http://www.palacecasinoresort.com/. You can
also call or ask at the Player's Club desk - every encounter I've had
with the player's club personnel has been quite pleasant and
informational. If you're over 50 years old, there is also an extra
day when you can get 3x points. Something like Wednesdays for
everyone, but Wednesday and Thursday for over 50 years old. Again
they'll explain it all in great detail at the desk for you.
While playing the VP you earn good cash back, which you can collect
at any time, even while you're still there - no need for bounce
back. In addition, you earn comp dollars on your card, but this
seems to be somewhat of a mystery - at least to me. Last time there
I asked at the slot desk about using points for a couple buffets, but
I couldn't because it was a Friday night - you can only use points on
Mon-Thurs. The lady then told me that I had enough comp dollars to
get 2 buffets and promptly printed me out a ticket. I asked how may
comp dollars did I have and she said that she couldn't tell me that.
This was only time my quest for information from the desk was
refused. So there doesn't seem to be a way to find out how much
comps you have. I did ask as the desk if my comp dollars could be
used to pay for rooms and she said yes, but I'd have to get with a
host to make that happen.
Also, the buffet at the Palace is the best on the coast in my
opinion - it is excellent and comps to it seem to be extremely easy
to get.
Hope this helps, have fun.
