Pai Gow (OT)

This is a bit off topic but since I've become rather enamored of Pai Gow I'd
love to know just how bad a bet it is. I play $10 and $5 and I seem to have
generally kept about even but I'm not sure if I'm very lucky or it's fairly
normal.

By the way, I have had some interesting ups and downs playing Pai Gow.
Played last Friday and last night at Texas because they have drawings for $100 of
funny money. Last week I won one - got four $25 chips (non-negotiable but they
are a legitimate bet) and lost all four bets I used them on. Last night I
won another drawing and lost the first three bets. I was pissing and moaning
(good naturedly since after all they are "free" bets) but won the fourth one and
won one more with the same chip for a total of $47.50 since they do take the
commission out of that bet (as they should). I was tickled about it.

I have found it is hard to win at pai gow but then again it is hard to lose as well. so staying even at least seems to me to be typical.

what I really like was Last March I played at the Orleans and after only 2-3 hours of table play at $5 a hand I was getting either meals in their 24 hour cafe for 2 or 2 buffets comped which I thought was good it suprised me to get as many free meals as I did for not much play.

Hopefully when I go out there agin in feb or march it will still be like that.
