I went to the link you posted and the closing paragraph is:

First of all, we are talking about a nickel and not a jackpot. Secondly, people find coins on the floor or in the coin tray all the time. If I sit down at a machine a find a coin in the coin tray, I keep it. I'd still like to hear some clarification on this slot-walking policy. Is it a law? State or Federal? What is the exact wording?
