Our Triumphant return to Tunica!? rooms, diamond in a day, kids, etc.

Hello vpfriends,

My husband and I are thinking of driving to Tunica mid July and I have so many questions for you. I used to be a Diamond cardholder but haven't played in a little over two years since having my kids. We have 2 free nights at the Fitz (which kinda sucks b/c my 2 yo can't use the pool!). Is the vpfree database currently correct for that property? I am gonna try for diamond in a day at the Roadhouse. Is the vpfree database up to date for the Roadhouse? I am hoping to spend no more than 9 hours playing $ not so ugly deuces wild. I spoke to TR on the phone and am not satisfied that the person I spoke with knew what they were talking about. I intend to call back, but I thought that one of you might be able to enlighten me. I am hoping that to reach Diamond in a day from my current Gold status of 0 base credits that I need to earn 3,000 base credits in a 24 hour period, or $30,000 coin in on vp. Is that correct? Is the "day" at the Roadhouse 6:00 am - 6:00 am? Will I be issued an actual Diamond card that is good until next march or some sort of temporary one for a few days until I reach the 11,000 base credits needed?

I have been in the Diamond lounge at the Horseshoe and thought it was very nice but can't recall if they serve food like in AC or just cheese and crackers? Is the lounge at Harrah's any better or worse?

I have read that the rooms at the Horseshoe are very nice. In pricing rooms at the Terrace vs the "standard room" at the Horseshoe, the horseshoe is about 20$ more midweek. Hubbie wants to stay at the terrace for "nostalgia." What is your opinion on the difference? I know my 2 and 1/2 year old would have the lobby and outdoor area at the terrace to frolic, plus the pool seems nicer, but we would have to take the shuttle to get to an actual restaurant. The website makes a point of telling you how far a Horseshoe standard room is from the elevator. That worries me with 2 kids in tow.

Lastly, are there any playgrounds in Tunica? I have no shame about "sneaking" on to hotel property to use a playground. I wouldn't sneak into a pool, but a playground is different.

Thank you in advance

The Roadhouse in Tunia is great for VP.
I was there last week and they have many machines with good pay tables. I played for a little while, hour or so playing BDW receiving 5 Aces twice and other mini jackpots.
I can't verify the FPFree database is up to date or their tier system but it is definitely worth your while to check it out.

We haven't been to Tunica since the floods so my information is not really up to date but I can make a couple comments.
First off I would be greatly interested in your experience when you do make the visit -- trip report perhaps -- especially getting Diamond-in-a-Day. We are planning a trip for mid Sept.

Both Diamond lounges are nice but we prefer the one at Harrah's, pretty decent food. However, if you like buffets, the one at Horseshoe is the best in Tunica (our opinion).

As far as the Terrace, I don't like to stay at any property where you have to take a shuttle bus. We have stayed at Harrah's RV park several times in our motorhome and found the transportation to be very unreliable. I am sure it is better at the hotels but I still wouldn't want to depend on them. When we stayed at Harrah's hotel, we requested a room in the facility next to the casino and was well pleased with the rooms.

There is no longer an inter-casino shuttle service, however, Harrah's does (or did) offer a shuttle bus service between Harrah's and Horseshoe -- again not real reliable but better than the RV shuttle.

Can't help on the playground, our playground participants grew up and left the nest years ago.

Rick

The Roadhouse has a number of playable pay tables.
I'll list the ones I'm familiar with.

"Almost perfect Deuces Wild" Variance @ 25, 99.96% game - 1,1,3,4,4,11,15,25,200,800
Double Double Bonus V- @25, 99.96% game - 1,1,3,4,6,10,50,80,160,160,400,40,800
Super Aces. 8/5. - V = 63, 99.94% game. - 1,1,3,4,5,8,50,80,400,60,800
Super Double Bonus 9/5. - V = 37, 99.69% game. - 1,1,3,4,5,9,50,80,120,160,80,800
Triple Double Bonus 9/5. - V = 44, 99.80% game. - 1,1,3,4,5,9,50,120,240,100,800
Triple Double Bonus. 9/7. - V = 98, 99.58% game. - 1,1,2,4,7,9,50,80,160,400,800,50,800

These games should all be on the same slant tops.

Good luck.

Tom

The only playground I'm aware of is the Kids Quest on the same property as the Veranda & Terrace. I don't know of any NSUD game but there is All Pay Deuces 15/11/9 multi demoninal at Roadhouse. All the Diamond lounges have scaled back on the food. I've never done diamond in a day, can't help you there.

Roadhouse has about 36 machines with good paytables. there are 24 with 10DDB. the othere 12 have 9/6 but they have all the other good paytables. the 10/6 machines are to the right at the center of the casino. there is a section of 6 uprights toward the wall and 5-6 along the wall, check the paytables as some poor scgedules are mixed in. the Diamond lounge is nic and has fruit, salad crackers vegetables and dip. you can get a free buffet comp there as well.

Friendly note on some of the other posts:

APDW = Almost Positive Deuces Wild, not almost perfect or all pay deuces wild. Although I like the concept of all pay deuces wild. No matter what hand you end up with, you get paid!
