Other Atlantis Policy Changes

Going along with the postings about mailer cutbacks, our experience seemed a bit more important.

In March of 2012, the Atlantis casino in Reno reneged on its offer to us to allow us to redeem slot club points for cash to cover our airfare. We had done this a couple of times and after discussing it with host John Weinreich we had things in place for this trip. Using slot club points to cover airfare makes it totally worthwhile for us to get to a place like Reno. When we were checking out and ready to get our cash for points, there was some mumbo-jumbo about whether the points we were redeeming we accumulated on that trip or previously.

Anyhow, it was clear, they told us we could redeem points for cash to cover our airfare, and when we were checking out told us we could not do that.

As I previously posted, under a different name, I had a somewhat similar experience when the Atlantis changed to their current comp points system.

I had approximately $300 value in points according to the conversion rate posted in vpFREE Reno. The points simply disappeared I didn't receive an explanation from the slot club (they didn't know), my host (didn't happen) and the slot supervisor (these points had no value and I couldn't know about their accumulation, despite the fact they appeared on the slot club computers). Since the Atlantis started to comp my rooms, there wasn't much use for the old points anyway.
