For those of you that get the Strictly Slots magazine, check out page 22 of the April issue. The author (Rob Wiser) was trying to explain why the Martingale system is flawed.
He explains the system: $5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, etc. When you win a bet, you start all over again.
Now for the quote: after "you've lost seven hands in a row. Now, your next bet needs to be $640...and you're $1,275 in the hole! If you win this $640 bet, you're still down $635, and you're now supposed to revert back to your original $5 bet".
Everyone knows that each time you win a bet, you are $5 ahead of the previous time you won.
Of course there are other reasons not to play this system, but his explanation is not one of them.
