Orleans

SWMBO and I have maintained the $25 coupon level at Gold Coast,
Orleans and Suncoast (no longer) for a long time. When they
retroactively changed their mailing rules to a one month qualifying
period, we remained qualified everywhere except for me at Suncoast.

At Suncoast I had logged around $9600 for November (needed $10,000
for the $25 coupons) and $39,000+ for the quarter, but received the
$10 coupons. I asked the Club Denaro reps if they were doing any
adjustments, and they said it was out of their hands and I needed to
talk to Chris Lazzara (Slot Club Manager). I did and he gave me the
$25 coupons plus a comp for two to the coffee shop.

Since the Orleans slowed down all their deuces machines to a

Even before I know they were switching over to the new mailing
system. So when I got the $10.00 mailer for February I was a bit
surprised.

I also want to mention that in November, I miscalculated my Gold Coast coin in.
I forgot to subtract the $80.00 I won in one session and fell a few dollars
short of $10,000 coin in. I talked to the slot club manager there and she
upgraded me to the $25.00 mailer. It's wierd how the customer service can be
so different within the same company.

My guess would be that Michael Gaughn, Coast Resorts chairman, has bottom
line expectations for each of his properties. Some managers feel they can
achieve the stated goals only through the General Sherman slash and burn
model. Other more enlightened managers may feel that good games and good
customer service will get them where they need to go. Who can say which
style is going to win out in the end? In the words of Enya, "Only Time."
But if Stations hold the line and new venues like Tuscany and as of today,
the Cannery continue to respond in the positive, Suncoast and the Orleans
may be changing slot managers before the year is out.
