Orleans: Gloves off!

Be Very careful with comps from the Orleans. They once screwed me on an

"upfront" comp, cause I actually won.
I'm not kidding, the reservation boothling confided in me "you gave us
plenty of action, but you beat us - had you lost all charges would be picked
up".

I have never heard of this on a room comp - anyone else? Seems to me the
room is comped on check in and that is the end of it. Hope it stays that
way for a couple more months!

I have never heard of this on a room comp - anyone else? Seems to

room is comped on check in and that is the end of it. Hope it

way for a couple more months!

I have never heard of this either. When a room comp is
truly "upfront" it is always taken care of at check-in, as your slot
host has to write it up and take it to registration beforehand. The
fact that someone stated "had you lost all charges would be picked
up" indicates that the comp would have been based on play for the
current trip, which would have been settled at check-out instead (at
which time your slot host rates your play during your stay and comps
you accordingly). It sounds like there was a misunderstanding
somewhere. If you truly feel that you were ripped-off, the problem
should be addressed. Hope this helps.

I never had any problem with comps from The Orleans.
As far as comps are concerned, I rate The Orleans as
the best (if I ask for 2 or 3 rooms - no problem, food
comps for 5 or 7 people - no problem).

Mistakes can happen anytime though.
Last month, I stayed at California Hotel & Casino in
downtown for free (via Invitational comp/promo).
Everything was taken care of up front. Yesterday, my
credit card bill showed that I was charged for my room
stay. I called Cal's Accounts Receivable this morning
and they admitted that there was a mistake and this
afternoon, they told me that everything has been taken
care of.

Well if you have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the last 15 years like I
have you would have heard of this. Sometimes comps are
given on a rated play basis. Often , the Orleans use to give out 2 days
comped and the 3rd or 4th day on a "rated Play" . Exactly what this means is
casino discretionary. In this case I gave them $25K/day for the extra 2
days - at least double what was expected. So I was a little pissed when they
charged me "casino rate" for one of those nights. But take this to the
bank... you will get more comps if you lose than win - never mind that crap
" we only consider action" . Definitely not true anywhere !
PS - I did beat them for $1500 clean
