I am wondering if VP at online casinos is legit. I frequently see warnings online that winning at online casinos is very difficult because the games can be rigged with no oversight by gaming commissions. Can you recommend any online casinos that you know positively to be legit and that pay out winnings without hassles to USA players? I would prefer to play at actual casinos but the Indian casinos in my area have terrible odds and going to Vegas or Reno is difficult. Thanks.
Online casinos legit??
vpFREE FAQ #4a:
"Are VP machines random/fair at online casinos? - They're
probably random/fair at some online casinos, and maybe not at
others. The problem is that they aren't regulated by a respected
Gaming Commission so you really don't know. Until there's some
confidence that they are random/fair, they should be discussed on
vpFREE_Online rather than on vp_FREE."

vpFree ONline is essentially a dead discussion group. No new messages in quite a long time. Perhaps it is an indication of the lack of excitement with online VP.

You are about ten years too late for good online video poker. At that time they had FP Deuces Wild up to the $5 denomination. I was very successful and always got paid.
The best plays these days appear to be about breakeven when you include sign on and reload bonuses.

I started in 2001, and I too found a few FPDW games, although I did not exploit them very much, but I did make quite a bit bonus-whoring other opportunities. Of all my experiences, I only got hassled collecting once, and eventually did get paid. But I was very choosy. I only played basically at places that had good reputations. Casinomeister was good for warning about crooks and rogues, so that site helped me stay clear of the crooks.
When 2006 came along and many of the good sites left the USA, it broke my heart.
My short run of five years was really a lot of fun. That's basically what got me interested in VP, because I had never known much about it before then.
There are still some decent opportunities. I love Real Time Gaming software. But vegasvpplayer is right, all or most of the really really good opportunities are gone. Or so I think so.

What do you mean by "decent opportunities"? I am looking for 99.54% 9/6 JoB online games. Do they exist? Are the casinos trustworthy especially when it comes to cash withdrawals? I realize that the earlier "really really good" opportunities are long gone. Thanks.

Oh gosh yes, there's a whole bunch of them if that's all you're looking for.
First off, there's the Microgaming crowd. I may be wrong, but I thought they were going to stop taking U.S. customers as of last November. I don't know, because I'm not keeping up with it. But I still get offers in the mail from some (a few) of them. The casinos that use that software, for the very most part, are very reliable. Their new software has a speed thingie where you can just set it to play automatically. In my opinion, that sucks. It takes all the fun out of the game.
The English Harbor Group also has 9-6 JoB. I haven't played there in a LONG time. There were some issues with them, and I forget what they were, but Casinomeister now has them listed on the good list again.
But my favorite, as I mentioned, is RTG software. And there are SEVERAL that have 9-6 JoB, and even better if you want to play Aces & Eights (99.80) or full pay Pick'em. If you just want to play, don't take a bonus and you'll have no problem getting your money any time you want. If you take a bonus, then there are terms and conditions. It can get complicated, trust me.
And for what it's worth, Doyle's Room now has a casino with RTG software. I have not tested them, but I'd guess that it's got to be reliable with his name attached to it. Also, the Main Street Group is pretty good. Also, the Club World group. All have the JoB you're looking for.
That's just off the top of my head.
Good luck!

I checked out Casinomeister and saw a listing of 40-50 online casinos that passed their inspections. Under the RTG casinos, I tried out Bodog, which had several variations (single play, 3, 10 and 52 play) of 9/6 JoB machines. The paytables were identical to the best JoB machines I saw in Reno. Are the odds of winning at Bodog identical to a real casino like Harrah's? Of course you don't get the comps. But then you don't have to travel long distances, endure the crowds, noise and smoke, and can play anytime in your underwear if you wish. If the chances of winning are the same, why do so many people choose to play VP at real casinos rather than online? I guess I am looking for reassurance that the online casinos recommended by Casinomeister are legit and not monetary sponsors of Casinomeister. What does Casinomeister get out of monitoring the online casinos? Thanks. Mike

I feel confident that the Casinomeister is one of the good guys in this industry. I am very impressed with what seems to me to be his high integrity.
I assume his site makes money when you click through to download. I don't think he's on anyone's payroll. I have watched him go way out of his way to help people in the past. He doesn't stand for any crap, either from the casinos OR the players. The casinos that pass his "good list" test have to meet a criteria. I think it explains on the site. He also has a bulletin board that is worth following if you're into it. Since I basically stopped playing in 2006, I don't look in as much as I used to.
If you could see what my old computer's desktop looked like, you'd see the gazillion online casinos I played at. I got my money from all of them. No stiffs. Yes, that seems amazing, but I was careful which ones I chose. I say if you want to play online, use the Casinomeister List, and go for it! It's about as safe as you're going to get. And feel confident that the major software is legit. I'm 99.9% sure RTG software is fair.

World Poker Exchange has 9/6 JOB and a good reputation for payment and I have had good experience with them on all my cashouts from both VP and their regular poker room.

Isn't World Poker Exchange affiliated with World Sports Exchange (WSEX)? I was just reading the other day on another forum that recently many bettors have had trouble with withdrawals from WSEX (either very slow payouts or no response at all). Have you tried cashouts recently?
