Ongoing banter from last weekend's trip

Colorado Belle: The Shooters bar is now closing at midnight on the
weekdays. They are not up and running untill 10AM now. Be sure you
check the progressives at the River Bar. That bar has progessive
plays on RF, SF, and 4 oak on aces. When we were there, the
progressives put the play in positive territory. I did hit for the
aces at this bar, and I also cleared out the progressive aces at the
RP. I always check the RF progressive upstairs at the Mississippi
Lounge, and the Boiler room, but they had both been hit recently.

I still don't know the names of all the bars... so forgive my
ignorance. As for the progressive Aces at the RP, do you mean the
$1BP ones that hit for about $659 on Sunday afternoon?

The Shooter bar daytime help is ok. At night the bartender looks
right through you.
*****
We were there at night and the bartender was good and very nice to
us. Had a good sense of humor too - but didn't know squat about vp -
was trying to "help" us with strategy. Looked at us like we were
idiots for holding 2 pair... encouraged us to drop the low pair to
go for the 4oak. We just smiled and said we liked to keep both pairs!

EW: Received a letter from an exec. host in December saying that I

had reached a level whereby I was entitled to all kinds of
freebies/goodies. I dismissed it as being blanket marketing... but
did bring it along. Went to the VIP/host office while I was there.
They said that the host who sent it was on vacation, so another

host

took care of me.

*****
Maybe you play at another Mandalaly?
*****
Played/stayed at the Luxor last June for 2 nights. Gave them little
action as the inventory stinks (for my liking). Hard to believe that
little bit of action would generate comped air and room. Hit a $4k
RF within the first 5 minutes of play at the Luxor and played very
little there after that. We figured it made more sense to just pay
for the rooms out of the winnings than give it all back to get 2
nights comped. In the end... they comped both nights anyway (and it
was a jacuzzi suite to boot!).

*****************************************************************

The EW .25 DB is in the 30 "Multi-Poker" games.
******
My error... I even played those briefly...lol. Felt lonely tho, so I
moved back to the bar : )

********************************************************************

Service at the bar at EW was pretty bad. There were 3 bartenders

and
about

10 customers.... and yet, it was hard to get a drink.

*****
Is this the Rivers Edge or Oasis bar? Once again second shift
service sucks except for Ed and Ron.
*********
It was the Rivers Edge Bar. We were there all afternoon. Had to
wait a long time in between drinks and ask to have ashtrays emptied
over and over again. They just didn't seem to get "it."

Thanks so much for the banter and all the tips! Looking forward to
visiting my money next month : )

There is one theory regarding excessive Mandalay Resort Group
offers. They want their money back after a big hit, like a $4K royal.

Ms. Hamstockman hit a big payoff on a potshot last May at CB. They
have been getting Laughlin offers that far exceed the coin-in that
has been posted. I get my $7.77/night offers and their mailbox is
overflowing with various RF/multi-point/gift/event offers.

It is just a theory, maybe your $1 Luxor royal triggered something?

BS

OK. Here is the story on the bars at the CB. They have a total of 4
bars at the Colorado Belle with VP. The Shooters bar is located near
the doors that head to the Edgewater. Very good VP plays. The River
Bar is in the mid casino area on the river side. They have a kind of
a "fish?" theme. Check out the progressives on RF, SF, and 4oak on
aces. The Boiler Room has pretty good micro brews, but not so good
VP, but check out the royal progressive. The Mississippi Lounge is
perhaps the best place to play. It is a very quiet area, and has 10/7
DB with a progressive on the RF. The bar service is great, and they
have the "brew of the month" on tap.

I hit the aces at the RP, but on the quarters. My play on last visit
to Laughlin was about 95% quarters, and 5% $1. I was saving my
gambling bankroll for a trip to Las Vegas in a few weeks.

I always wrote off bartops as a viable play until a couple of years
ago. I now know differently.

More CB comments:

Boiler Room opens at 11am, food service starts at 4pm. No TITO so be
prepared for slow hopper fills, best game is .25 DB 9/7 with the
royal progressive. Good bartender banter and they have some premium
boozes to go along with the homebrews.

Shooter Bar- TITO and the bathrooms are right there!

Mississippi Lounge- opens at 11am, supports the two good restaurants,
so closes when they close, unless you get your own party started.
Assorted .25 games with the royal progressive. One DB 10/7 in
dollars. Hopper fills once again are a downside.

The River Bar- my newest discovery. It is the east/central bar and
supports the service bar so it is 24/7. I got the lowdown on the
games. The bartops used to all be an older set-up, Bonus 7/5
quarters with the three-way progressives. They put in the TITO Game
Kings and just had the one game activated. Recently, the dollar
level was activated with some playable games, but the only quarter
game still is the Bonus.

HS and I stumbled upon the River Bar with a royal just over reset,
Aces near $150.00 and the SF at 5X+ reset. It appears all three
meters grow at the same quick pace (never been alone to track them).
This gives you a 101.5%+ play with strategy changes.

I don't think we actually changed ours though. I am not a seasoned
progressive player beyond the royal.

Messing with Winpoker, we should have been saving any 3 card SF over
2 HI cards. The biggest surprise was when Aces are over $115, you
bust up a full house. It is apparent that this is my new project,
since there are several other similiar multi-progressive plays on the
River, based on Bonus 7/5.

HS got the Aces and someone else got the SF, ending the play for this
trip.
