Jerry,
There is a state law that says a return can't be more than 98%, so
these machines don't exist! You'll have to check the paytables again,
but don't get back to us here...we're pretty sure they pay back less
than 98%.
However, if you want to practice, there is a piece of software by
Conjelco that might help. Also, Dick Mustain might have some help
with strategy for you when he checks back on this board.

That software is "vpfreebie", written by the venerable Steve Jacobs
(who appears to either be on "sabatical" or merely lurking these days
-- I expect he doesn't have the time or patience for the latter

The tool (which has a somewhat more rudimentary user interface than
winpoker or frugal -- it is free, after all), is useful in tackling
OEJ inasmuch as you can define a paytable that has a payline for
individual specific cards (e.g. "OEJ").

It evaluates hands to determine optimal hold EV and can function as a
tutor. However, it doesn't have a strategy evaluator component.
Thus, it's something of a trial and error procedure to arrive at a
strategy.

For this reason, I'm personally not aware of anyone who's anxious to
share one (although there may have been someone here several months
ago who was teasingly waving one around).

FWIW, the name predates this group and there's no connection. It can
be downloaded from:

I started a new job recently, and that combined with other demands have
left me with very little free time. I don't even fire up my computer every
day, whereas I used to get online at least in the morning and in the evening
every day. Still, I try to keep and eye out for discussions that might relate
to alternate strategies
