On local TV and local book-signing

I will be interviewed on the noon news tomorrow (Wednesday) on Channel
3, probably about 12:40 p.m. They are going to give away a book, so
stand by your phone if you want to try for a freebie!!

I want to invite everyone to stop by the Palapa Lounge at the Palms
sometime between 2-4 p.m. next Monday (10th) and join us for a cookie
and drink break. Brad (AKA the cookie monster) and the Frugal Princess
will also be there as well as my "little" sister, Starr, an attorney
from IN. There will be time for photos and book signings and chatting.
And don't forget - if you want to buy a book that day, you will get a
gambling bonus coupon. Put 500 base points on your players card in one
day and then go to the slot club booth and they will put $5 in Free Play
on your card.

My wife and will be going to Ameristar in KC very soon. I was wondering how
any couples out there handle their accounts? They have a $500/2 Hr loss
limit there. Do you have a joint account with 2 cards? A single account
with 2 cards? Separate accounts? 2 cards from 1 account are best for
maximizing comps, but with the $500 limit you could wind up with down time.

On the same subject does anyone have the 2X point coupon from CP magazine to
trade or give? Email me at jjendon@charter.net.

Thanks in advance.

Don

Don,

We have seperate accounts. But we have 2 of each card. That way, we can do the bulk of our play on one card...and if we were to go over out limit (we are small time players, so that has never happened), we could switch accounts.

When I was there, I went in and bought $500 in black chips and left
with them
Thenm when I was ready to play, I had $500 in reserve plus the $500
they allow, etc. You can do this to the extent of your bankroll.

Actually it is illegal to use someone else's card in Missouri casinos
-- even a spouse. There are no joint accounts. The state has a
strict $500 loss limit per "cruise" and that is enforced through the
slot cards. You must have a card to enter the casino. When you enter
the card is swiped and given $500 "on account" that you can play
through a slot/VP machine or use in gaming chips. At the top of the
even hours, everyone gets another $500 (but the leftovers of the
previous $500 goes away). This has never been a problem for us but it
definitely keeps the high rollers away.

Having said all that, my wife and I do play on each other's card once
in a while. For example if one of us gets a double point coupon. It
is also easier to hit the meal comp level with two playing on one
account. If you play on the same account just be discreet about it.
Most of the time the second card will not activate the bill eater so
you will have to load the machine with a different card or use tokens.

BTW Ameristar is fairly generous with discressionary comps. We have
found it is better to ask a host for a comp rather than a clerk at the
promotions booth. The clerk is likely as not to take the comp out of
your points. There is a host office to the right of the main slot
booth outside the casino (across from the rail car) and a host station
near the high limit area inside the casino.

You can cash in points for comps at the rate of 100 points per $5 or
get cash back at 125 points for $5 (then in both cases, even dollar
amounts above $5).

Hope you have a great time and win a bunch.

Hi Don,
Get 2 accounts. You and your wife each swipe in (going through the
turnstiles) on your own cards.

On the account you wish to concentrate your play, just get duplicate
cards.
I've never had a problem when my wife was playing on my card at the
same time
I was. However, as another poster stated it is technically illegal. I
only see this issue enforced at the tables when one person attempts
to give another person chips.

The only issue you will have is that both of you cannot buyin at the
machine on the same card.

For example, if you sit down and stick card #1 in the machine, when
your wife
sits down and also sticks your card (#2) in her machine, that machine
will
have its' bill acceptor shutoff. So, before you wife sticks her card
in the
machine, you put the money in your machine. THEN, pull your card from
the
machine and reinsert the 2nd card back into your wife's machine. Have
her
buyin, then you stick your card back in and start playing. Does that
make any
sense? A PIA for sure, but in Missouri, nothing can be easy. Every 2
hours,
both of you should pull your cards and go to the cage and buy 5 black
chips
if you are concerned about bumping into the loss limit per 2 hour
session.

My wife and will be going to Ameristar in KC very soon. I was

wondering how
