Omaha, Nebraska: Any Exciting Casino Action?

I'll be going to hang with Warren Buffet in early May.
Any decent casinos nearby?
If not, I'll chase tornadoes instead.
Al Gore thinks it'll be a good year for that.

Right across the Missouri river from Omaha is Council Bluffs, IA
where there are three casinos. My information is dated, as I haven't
been there since the old Bluffs Run casino (a slots-only greyhound
track) was totally remodeled and opened as a Harrah's-owned "Horseshoe"
casino.

The old Harrah's casino had pretty lousy video poker --- EXCEPT
that they had ample Fifty Play and Hundred Play penny-through-quarter
Triple Deuces (99.9%). (It's been two years --- that may have changed).
Choose your stakes wisely as Iowa has a state withholding tax (5%
maybe?) on all W2Gs.

Ameristar had $1 9/7 DB progressives, along with a few
progressives in the high limit room on base games that are too tight to
be of interest generally --- although you never know how high they are
until you show up.

The 50-play and 100-play triple deuces got whacked in a full machine
downgrade in October.

The best play on the Ameristar progressives is now 9/6 DDB. Meters
are .50%.

Horseshoe has many many machines in the 99% range. 8/5 Bonus, 9/6
DDB, & Airport Deuces.

Thanks, Bob.

Incidentally: Warren, if you're scouting this board, sorry. I did know that
your last name is spelled with two T's.
It's just that I was really, really hungry and thinking of Vegas (as
always).

I was just in Council Bluffs for the Thanksgiving holiday. There was
a nice 9/6 JoB near the tables at Harrah's. Check the database as I
would have trouble describing exactly where.

Never mind the Lounge there. Instead go down the street to Horseshoe
and enjoy that Lounge. The whole casino actually. Very nice place.
And that coming from a guy who lives in The Vegas and considers
hanging out at CP's DL an entertaining Friday night. (Hmm...Guess
where I was last night. )
