Old Poker Room

There is a sign inside the old poker room where the $1 pickems and 9/6s are
that states that the room will be closed for 24 hours starting Sunday night
(4/25).

I was there this weekend and saw the same sign. I doubt they would be down
grading. Right now the worst $1 JB is 8/6 or 9/5 and the trend has been up. I'll
be there next weekend to check it out. We're going to see Rick Springfield at
Foxwoods but we're staying at Mohegan. A sagamore benefit gets you an upgrade
to a suite for the price of a standard room if available. While they won't
guarantee it in advance, we gotten one every time we requested one since a VIP
rep told me about it a few months ago.

I attended the monthly birthday party. About 300 attendees, 150 entrants for
(5) $1000 and (1) $5000 prize. They also gave all invitees A $100 free bet. I
put it on 7 in roulette. Anyway, I didn't win anything but it was a nice
dinner. Marketing listed the shows scheduled for the next few months. It is an
amazing line up of shows.

I played the $1 9/6 JOB and the $2 7/5 BP and held my own. I moved over to
the $5 JB and got killed. Results for the weekend -$1800.

I was also at the Birthday party at Mohegan yesterday and it

sounds like I had a similar day. I hadn't noticed the signs in the
old poker room earlier but when I walked over to play at around
9:00PM last night the room was closed off with a number of casino
folks working amoung the machines. Some machines were already shut
down, while others were having the cash removed. When I asked one of
the suits why the room was being closed he said the room was being
re-done. I hope we are not being paronoid about this but it does
make you wonder why these changes suddenly are necessary. I don't
plan to be at Mohegan for the next couple of weeks so I am anxious
to hear what happens............Mike G.

I'll be there tuesday night, I'll let you know, but it doesn't sound
good. I think having only dollar machines was not a good idea, maybe
they will make them MG/MD machines. -Russ

Good luck Russ. Tuesday is free Ben & Jerry's day anyway. I had heard
that one of the bartops (at the Wolf's Den) 9/6 JOB was changed to
8/5; hopefully you'll report that that the majority of the bartops
were not massacred.

I was at Foxwoods and Mohegan last night. Everything at Foxwoods
seems the same (including the fact that I can't seem to hit anything
there). I checked all the bars in the old casino in Mohegan and the
Wolf's Den bars have new machines and the paytables on the $1 JoB are
9/5 there (used to be 9/6). This was the last bar to have it's
software updated, so hopefully they won't lower the paytable on the
others. The old poker room has the same machines and pay tables as
before. -Russ
