Ok Gang.....Comp Game Questions.....

Hi,

First of all, thanks to all who have helped me in the past in dealing
with "low roller" comps and such. It's valuable information. This
next trip, I'll be taking someone with a much more significant
bankroll.....so new questions arise....

1. We're staying at the Aladdin. They require $6K for reduced room
rates, and we'll hit that in the first day. I'm sure we'll want to
contact a host to clarify how much we need for room comps, meal
comps, etc. When is the proper time to make "first contact" - when we
check-in, or after we establish some good daily play for a day or so?

2. As far as meal comps go, do we ask as we go, or charge everything
to the room? It seems to me that if you go by "comp dollars", meal
comps are wicked expensive! $1.5K coin-in on slots only gives us a
$10 meal comp, when $6K knocks several hundred off the room??? What
gives here? Are they more generous at the end of a stay in dealing
with that?

3. As far as seeing a host before check-out, do we do it the night
before or the morning of? Do we try and see the same host we met
initially?

4. Regarding meal comps at other properties, is it allowed to see a
host during a day of play (after say $2K coin in) for discretionary
comps, or do most places now run strictly off of the comp points for
meals? I'm specifically asking about Boulder Station, Sam's Town,
Gold Coast, Orleans, and Main Street Station. I have some information
about other downtown places.

That's all for now....I'm sure I'll have more....

Thanks,

Dave, T-48

I am under the impression that there is NOTHING at the Aladdin that is
100% or better. A Wasteland.
Am I misinformed?

*Sigh* Yup, you're correct. Their lone $1 9/6 JOB pays back 99.87%
with the cashback.

Now, back to my question.....constructive responses appreciated! I'm
trying to get insight on the comp game here

Hey David,
Why in the heck are you going to the Aladdin?
Why are you even playing the comp "game"?
Did you know that Sharon left the Aladdin last week?
OK, back to the questions:

1. After a good day of play.
2. Try to get "discretionary" comps. Upfront is better.
3. Do it the previous day. A host might not be available when you
are checking out.
4. If you're only doing 2k/day, have no shame and ASK away. IMHO, I
think this is pretty low, but you never know. It surely doesn't hurt
to ask. Also, why play the comp game at a local's casino that
already has rock bottom prices for food?

Good luck,
Mike "Yahtzee"
