Ohkay Casino, New Mexico

I am speaking at an Indian Gaming Conference there May 17-21. I am assuming
there is no good VP there, but I would appreciate any helpful information,
especially about BJ. I think we will spend most of our free time
sightseeing in the Santa Fe/Taos area.

I know very little about BJ in any of the NM casinos, unfortunately.

My wife and I moved from Albuquerque to LV in the summer of 2001. I've
been to the Ohkay once, and it was a pleasant casino, but I remember
little about the VP there.

The Camel Rock casino near Santa Fe had a very good, but small, buffet
featuring very good New Mexican food. The same was true of the Santa
Ana Star in Bernalillo north of Albuquerque. The Star had the best VP
of the bunch in the Abq/Santa Fe area, but it wasn't that good.

An aside: If you decide to purchase Indian jewelry/pots/rugs, prices
are generally better in Albuquerque or at Bien Mur at I-25 and Tramway
(near Sandia Pueblo casino), than they are in Taos or Santa Fe. Ask
someone how to get to the High Road to Taos from the Espanola
area--very scenic. Get Spansiih woven rugs from Ortegas in Chimayo
(closed Sundays, incidentally).
