Oh Dear.

I just spent recently 11 days in Las Vegas, I hit four Royals,
including one on a dollar machine, and I had other nice hits in
Keno, and Aces with kicker in DDB and other stuff. I had a great
time. I must say that I confirmed Singer's method in the sense that
I should have left after the first week to have been a big winner.
Inevitably, the losing streak came after a week in a winning streak.
I don't mind. I was in my favorite hotel, got it comped, and now I'm
going back at the end of the year, with everything comped up front.
I'm surprised this message board has turned to stuff not related to
VP. There is so much to discuss about VP. How do you people like
Five Play Multi Strike? The one at Caesars in quarters was murder,
and the one at Mirage in two cents was not too much better. It is
like watching that Halloween movie. I loved Five Aces, never played
it before, but got four aces many times for 400 coins, five aces
were reserved for my next trip. I loved Super Times Pay VP, and hit
a Royal on that at MGM, no multiplier active, alas! Still, nice. I
had a great time, had some fabulous meals at Craftsteak, Mesa Grill,
Bradley Ogden, Michael Mina, Olives, etc. I could have left a big
winner during my first week, but still, I managed not to lose, and
I'm going back in a few weeks to use the bankroll I preserved, :). I
did something no one recommends, play a lot of Video Poker short
coin. The best paytables are in the higher denominations, and I
don't like to be shorted in my flushes and full houses. I was very
fortunate in that all my four Royals arrived when I was playing full
coin. Do I have ESP? I hope so. It seems I had it in the machines I
chose most of the times. I can't make a definite conclusion, but
hope to keep researching this matter next month. Please, guys, talk
about Video Poker and, if not, maybe Video Keno? Royals to all,

E

Not to pick on you or anyone who tries that game out....but lengthy
play on 5-play MSVP is for addicts and no one else. I remember Jean
Scott blabbing about how she went to Caesar's for the purpose of
playing that game for 10 or 20 hours in order to get some kind of
special comp or gift or something just as stupid, and she lost
several thousand as she played to the casino manager's tune.
That's 'advantage play' for you.

If I remember properly back to 1990-1996, winning several royals at
the start of a trip, having a bundle in your pocket, then giving much
of it back before leaving--even though I was still ahead--gave me a
rotten feeling for quite some time. I noticed where you seem to try
to make yourself feel better by talking about all the comps, the fun,
and the nice hotel, etc. I did that too, and you can't help it when
it flows. But on the other hand, 11 days is an awful long time to
spend in LV regardless what you have for an agenda. After even one
day I can't stand the drunks on the road, the junkers driving nearby,
and the attitudes on the streets. In this order I commend you: At
least you made it home, and at least you didn't go into the red.

Did you happen to notice what the best 25c game is at
Bellagio, now that the 9/7 DB has been downgraded to 9/6 ?

Hey, thanks for the reply, but your last sentences don't apply to
me, I did not see drunks on the road because I was never on the
road, I was always indoors. As for streets, I saw very litlle of
those, LOL.

As to five play multi strike, it is murder. This is the first trip
where I encountered that game. I played it first at Caesars and
since it was quarters, 100 quarters a shot, it was a high roller
thing. I must say it did keep your attention, and it was fun when it
went up quickly, but I quickly realized I was not going to last 11
days playing it. I then went to Mirage where I found the two cent
version of the game. I played that for hours, and contributed a few
benjis to it. That was my bye bye to the game. I hope it is soon
offered on the Internet for free, the game is just too volatile for
my taste. I do understand people who enjoy the game, I just hate the
huge amounts you can lose at that game. You know, I'm really frugal,
I have been known to play short coin on nickel machines, LOL.

Yes, the five quarter 9/7 were all downgraded at Bellagio to 9/6. I
am not sure what the best quarter play is there now. They do have
9/6 DB progressives, and theoretically those could become playable.
I would think the progressives are the best bet. In non progressive
machines, they have 8/5 JB, 9/5 DDB, etc. Nothing to write home
about.
