Offers for Non-locals at Local Casinos

Hi,

I recently took a 5 day trip to Las Vegas in mid-June. I ended up staying at the Venetian but gambled mostly at the local casinos around town. However, I was wondering what type of offers non-locals typically receive for play at some of the local casinos (Station casinos/ Boyd casinos). It has been a month since I have returned and have not received any offers in the snail mail or any e-mail offers. Here are some of my examples of my play and the casinos (these were all my first times at the respective casinos):

- Fiesta Rancho went on a Friday for 5X points and received 14,000 base points in a single day. Played solely on 9/6 JOB $1 progressives machine. Was offered a free room and got several food comps but no offers in the mail as of today.

- Gold Coast went on Father's Day for 6X points, played at $1 9/6 JOB and received 20,000 points (enough for the 2nd tier of the Coast casinos) in a single day.

- Palms Casino signed up for a card and played about 500 points on one day for a sign up promotion on again $1 9/6 JOB- no offers.

- Wynn casino- averaged around $10,000 coin-in per day for about 3-4 days at $1 9/6 JOB, got a few free buffets, no room offers, nothing in the mail.

- Venetian- friends played slot machines and put 450 points on my card ($900 coin-in I believe), received a free slot tourney invitation with 3 free room comped- even though on their website it states that you need to earn 1000 points to receive an invitation.

- Terribles- stayed on a weekend for one night for 59 dollars with a 50 dollar free slot play (see website), rooms OK; however free slot play is only good on certain video poker machines and almost all slot machines. Received enough points for 2nd tier level (silver card) but won't come back again- club card line was busy all of the time, hotel was dirty and run down and poor service.

Any thoughts, should I just wait and see if anything arrives? I plan on going back to Vegas in September and was hoping for some free room offers. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chad

I regularly get good offers at the locals casinos I patronize from the Orleans to Sams Town to the Stations. Due my playing in Vegas dropping as I can get 99% payback games in a total non smoking environment here (California Casinos- separate rooms) don't know what the future will bring but the offers are good.

Chad,

You need to give things more time. Your play was only about a month ago and
you already seem frustrated about a lack of mailed offers. In many cases,
the offers sent in July will be based on account activity through May, or
even April. It is unlikely that your play in June is triggering anything
just yet.

Wait until the end of September. If you have not started to receive offers
by then, I will be surprised. At least from Fiesta/Station and Coast
casinos. You're unlikely to get anything from the Palms and Wynn/Venetian
are tough cookies to predict.

I live in Canada and receive offers all the time from various casinos in LV and also AC.
In all the years I have played I have never received a single mailed offer from a Station
casino, however out of the blue earlier this year a Station host did call me to offer me free
rooms and meals on my next visit, which I have yet to take him up on.

I receive offers regularly from The Orleans and very irregularly from the Suncoast.
I have played regularly at the Palms since it opened and in the past have received some
interesting offers and then comparatively some plain dumb ones. Offers from the Palms
are far and few between. I have played at Wynn's on and off since they opened and have
received two meagre offers for a couple of comped nights on selected dates, neither of
which I could go on.

I played, for the first time since they opened, at the Venetian for a couple of hours and a
couple of hundred bucks and have received some jazzy free tourney offers with comped
stay and most recently a free stay at either the Venetian or the Palazzo with a hefty free
play offer. That one I am using on my next visit. I played an equivalent amount at Planet
Hollywood and receive offers for tourneys where one has to pay an entrance fee that
includes "complimentary free nights".

Sam's Town used to fill my letterbox with offers and then stopped completely even after I
played there several times at the same rate I always did.

There never seems to be a rhyme or reason as to the nature of some of the offers I have
received. I am often pleasantly surprised and sometimes disappointed, particularly when
the offer arrives after it's due date.

Expecting offers from casinos is like participating in a lottery that has a constantly
shifting draw date,

Fiesta will probably send you a quarterly offer that will include free room, point multiplier and maybe some free play.

My play at Gold Coast is similar to yours and I receive nothing of value; sometimes a slot tournament entry. A call to a host will probably get a free room.

Palms is notorious for not sending offers to out-of-towners unless they are desperate; however sometimes a call to a host will get a free room.
