Representing two entities is not a basic no-no--however if you deal with an
unscrupulous individual now that is "a basic no-no". Often deals can be
negotiated between two parties where it is a win-win situation. Market values in
most places are common knowledge--it is the details of the transfer that is
critical. Plus, "saving money" does not always mean taking profits out of the
other parties pocket. It can mean pointing you to the better long term
investment, discouraging you from buying something with problems, it can also
include savings on escrow details, financing, tax consequences, etc. A really good
broker can get a result where everyone wins.
