off topic - the tunnel

This is definitely way off the VP topic.

Harry mentioned Mapquest. I use software-generated maps in my work every
day, going to places I've never been before. Right here on Yahoo is the best
online map generator in the biz! Yahoo.com main page, click on "maps" on the
left side.

I have to drive to roughly 1,000 homes a year (virtual tour photography).
Mapquest used to let me down 2 or 3 times a month, Yahoo will not let me down
that many times in a year!

Yahoo used to be my favorite but now I prefer google maps(web based) or
google earth(software based) Why? Satellite images. You can input point to
point and then virtually drive the route. Nothing beats seeing where you
need to go before you go. We use it a lot and have had only one minor
hiccup. Got directions for a Halloween party our kids were going to. Flew
the route on google earth and noticed that the house where the party was had
a pool. Fast forward to arrival at the party. While meet and greeting with
the other parents I looked out in the backyard and saw no pool. I told the
party hosts that I did a fly over using google earth and it showed a pool in
there backyard. Come to find out next door neighbor has pool so directions
were one house off. Google had put the address next door. All the houses
were similar in style and as it was night once I got on the street they
lived on I knew the address was on right side about mid block. I stopped at
the house with the correct address. Next day I checked the address again to
see if I had inputted the address wrong. It still led me to the neighbors
house. If you download google earth be prepared to spend time checking out
all the neat things you can do with the program. My son has fun virtually
traveling the world. Anybody been to Timbuktu.
