A "dime line" is the jargon for putting up $11 to win $10. The casino wants
the same action on both sides, so they collect $22 and then pay out $21. This
would be a vigorish of 1/22 or 4.5%. Occasionally the betting line is
adjusted to get this balance in the action.

Nickel lines are sometimes available in early betting periods.

The edge is actually 4.5%, but the sports book doesn't always pick the line correctly, and if the action is not balanced they could lose (I don't feel sorry for them though as they really rip you off with the parlays with extreme house edges compunded by paying on a "for" basis instead of a "to" basis) .
