The wife and I are considering coming to town on the weekend of January 13,

The off-road races shouldn't be that big of deal. I would put it below the
rodeo/bullriding weekends as far as crowds go. My generic mailer for Jan-March
has higher rates for the 13/14th ($40), but 12/15th are comped. The other
weekend nights in the month are comped/$20/$25. I think the reservationist just
wants to fill up the weaker weekends.
I wonder where they are going to hold the races this year? There was a big
BLM land sale for some of the course last spring.
As far as snail mail...the hardcopy is not needed to check-in. I have never
been asked for a postcard or letter. Now if the offer is for something to
pick-up, like $30 Cash for Gas or a premium gift, then it is important to have a
mailer.
Book on-line...you will get a confirmation e-mail/number right away. Pick
the Adult South Tower for casino conveinence.
