odds on different games

I am learning to play jokers wild and was wondering if because JW is
harder to play a perfect game, would a good player do better at JW
than JOB where the correct cards to hold are much easier for the other
players? Is there more money left in the machine for a good player if
other players don't hold the best cards and get the best payout?

No money is "held" in a machine. The law requires all hands to be
independent and random. It does not make any difference what other
players have done, or will do. You might want to read over the VPFree
FAQ for more details.

The results other players have on a machine will have no impact on your
results. It does not matter what the paytable of the game is or how
good or bad the player before you was. Each hand is an independant
trial and the odds for each hand before you hit deal is the same.

Full Pay KBJW will be a better game for you to play than 9/6JB when
your playing skill gets to the level that your theoretical return on
the game is above the return possible on 9/6JB. It will be a much
better game to play when you learn it to the level that you are playing
with an advantage.

As with all video poker games your return will be subject to the swings
of fate called variance. Best wishes on your learning quest. I found it
hard to learn, but is is a fun game once you get the hang of it.

Thanks Jerry,
After retirement I finally am at the point in my life that I can afford
to lose $500.00 or so when I go and I am having the time of my life, as
I live in a little town in the mountains and going to Reno is like going
to another planet!! I like the different games as it exersises my
brain----Jack
