Odd behavior at Wynn/Encore

Marketing appears to have "over-mailed" that tournament to players that had been no-mailed previously.

Several months ago I stopped getting local's mailers from Wynn. When I asked my host why, she said it was because I was a video poker player. She told me that I was still elegable to participate in other promotional events. I played there again last month and received an invite to a March slot tournament / drawing event. I thought I was doing my host a favor by booking the event through her. What I got instead was a reply that she was refusing to "extend" the offer. Why would a host go out of their way to cancel a marketing offer? The offer did not include a room or food which might come out of her budget.
