How about everybody else?

Don't know how much I'll be going, with what MS did to VP.

I received mine also. How nice of them. I may make a few trips between now March on my wife's Sachem for shows and to use up our points. After that it will be done.

No card in the mail yet. As dollar machine gamblers, 5 hours on their short pay VP pays the airfare to Vegas.

Ok Haaljo explain to me how playing on their short pay( 8/5 JOB ? ). pays for airfare considering the expected loss.

8/5 JB = 97.29% E.V. (Tom Ski's Video Poker (basic) Stragety Master)

$5/hand x 600 hands/hr x 5 hours = $15K action.
$15K action x 3% expected loss = $450.

Looks like we can buy the "big seats" on Jet Blue.

Dori and I have been staying at the South Pointe for 5 years and most games are single line. No multi play NSUG and 9-6 Bonus deluxe. Great place and easy to get comps with about 15 to 20k a day. Any questions just email me as we know lots of people there,

Kelly Juliano or Courtney Whitaker.
I have used them both and they are good. If you have never stayed there don't expect a comp upfront. They will evaluate you play and comp accordingly. We have a long history with them so we get things upfront.

Haaljo,
Seems like I misinterpreted your post. I thought that you were playing these machines and thought that the bennies would pay for your seat. But you're not playing them. Am I correct ?

Looks like we can buy the "big seats" on Jet Blue.

We are not gambling on 97% machines (except for "quick hits":-).
The plays in Nevada are fair bets.
I've been reading more articles from Pittsburgh gambling reporter. Here's another good article:
www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/ae/gambling/s_757201.html

"...The study found that few players would be able to tell that any two machines had different payout rates. That means casinos might want to think twice about reducing the house advantage on machines in hopes of being known for "loose" slots, the study said.

"It is very unlikely that a player would be able to legitimately detect a 1 to 2 percent change in the payback percentage," the study said. "The findings of this study fail to support concerns that frequent players will detect changes in (house advantage) over time."

Ouch!

Not sure if I get this.maybe I missed a post. Tell me if I'm wrong but
doesn't Mohegan still have 9/6 JB but without points? (If not at $5 they did
have 96 $1 with 25 coin in.) If so, isn't the comparison playing the 9/6 at
MS vs. maybe a 9/6 in Vegas? If so, the game is a wash and the advantage is
whatever comps you get in Vegas. If a casino is giving you 2%-3% there in
total comps (freeplay, travel, meals, etc) that's great.

I'm not sure what you're smoking but here is a comparison between Mohegan which is now one of the worst plays on the east coast to Vegas. 9/6 when everything else sucks doesn't make it an advantage play.

Mohegan:0 points
Vegas.33 cash back

Mohegan $25 fsp
Vegas $1750 fsp

Mohegan: Gifts that look like urinals and $29 bbq
Vegas: $750 gift cards

Mohegan: downgraded to Sagamore $299 for a Sat room
Vegas: comped 1 or 2 bedroom suite

Mohegan: shitty shows and seats if you can get them
Vegas: preferred seating great shows

Mohegan: Pay for your meals with point (right we don't get any)
Vegas: RFB at restaurants that blow away MS

All I can say is bye bye Mohegan

I totally agree with you Joel. The other thing that really pisses me off is that they have based their Sachem levels more on profitability as opposed to play. Both you and I play put at least 3x as much coin in as our spouses but because of the way we play they have losses and are at a higher level than us because of our phantom wins.

That's right Mel. I forgot to add the downgrade to Sagamore. It seems that Sachem is now based primarily on loss regardless of coin in. After 10 years of similar play, you're downgraded.

Wasn’t claiming that Mohegan was better than Vegas just that people seem to throw out all the calculations because they don’t get points. I also have canceled my trips to Mohegan and have taken trips to Vegas and NOLA and have booked trips to a few other places.

Just in theory, I’m guessing that some individuals would rather play at a casino offering a 101% return high denomination game with minimal comps vs a casino that offered a 99.5% game with better comps. I know I often get dinner comps to fancy restaurants that have little value to me and suites that I don’t really care about. If the latter casino is throwing in enough freeplay, travel reimbursement, etc to make it a better play then that may be where I go. It just depends on the analysis: the return on the game and the value the player places on the comps.
