1b. Re: NYNY copies Venetian "Warning"
Date: Fri Dec 26, 2008 12:38 pm ((PST))
Unless you actually "trust" the casino to "do the right thing", I would not agree to an offer which basically has a blank in it, i.e., the amount of expected play, as a condition of them honoring the offer. I would not expect a WRITTEN confirmation of my expected play, but the way these are written, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask them to tell you what your "historical level of play" is, that determines whether or not they will honor the offer.
Obviously, if they make a commitment verbally, and you meet the expected level of play, and then they don't honor it, you can complain, and I would do so loudly up the line, having essentially been lied to. I would expect to get it resolved if I had ANY assurance of how much play makes the offer "good" - and if this didn't occur, I would let them know that I was done doing business with them and would be letting all my friends know about their dishonesty.
As for the credit card charges, yes, they can be disputed, but for most cards, they will do so only temporarily, and expect you to resolve the matter with the company - if this can't be done, while most of the time, the matter will be resolved by the credit card company in your favor, there is no guarantee that this will be their decision.
I recently learned that, unlike other bank cards, American Express does not pay the ultimate recipient of the money until YOU have paid American Express - so perhaps American Express is a better choice if you want this as a backup plan. I've had particularly good experiences with American Express when disputing charges (usually with companies that have erroneously double-posted a legitimate charge).

If they charge your credit card, simply call your credit card and
dispute the charge. I know my card company will remove the charges, no
problemo. Can't wait to do this to red rock and their silly disclaimer
offer!--- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, "mikeymic" wrote:

3a. Stratosphere offering ridiculously worded offers as well.

Date: Fri Dec 26, 2008 7:24 am ((PST))The Stratosphere is sending me offers which are also vague and subject
to multiple interpretations.
When I called the Reservations number, I was told that they will
deduct the value of the offer from my points.
I asked what would happen if I don't have any points for them to
[steal] deduct [will they charge my credit card for the room] but got
a vague response.Messages in this topic (7)

Date: Fri Dec 26, 2008 8:30 am ((PST))When Microsoft released Windows Vista, they decided it would no longer offer
direct support for the old Windows Help format (*.HLP) that most older programs
used. However they do allow you to download the program needed to view those
older help files. Unfortunately, they do not allow software companies to bundle
the older help viewer; they only allow the individual user to download and
install it.Many of us technical writers who feel the older format is far superior were (and
still are) outraged that Microsoft made this decision but our voices were lost
in the wilderness.Mike (who just booked his trip to Vegas for the last week in January)

Bob - there are several and I purchase them online. It takes 7-10
business days for delivery. Here are the ones I have used, but bear in
mind that there are no refunds should the restaurant close so I would
make a purchase too far in advance of your planned usage.http://partydeals.931theparty.com/cc-common/ddindex2.php

Also, KSHP has a marathon quarterly, but you need to obtain a shoppers
card beforehand and have your credit card on hand unless you can pick
up the item in person. I use KSHP for both dining and show tickets.
http://kshp.com/Lastly, Fox 5 News has a few certificates, but nothing of interest
currently.

up in version 2.03k. If you want an emailed update, let me know.
Also, for those with Vista, the standard VPSM install has problems if
you install it to the default directory. But if you instead pick a
different one of your choice, it will work. (ie pick c:/vpsm instead of
the default) TomSki--- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, "deuceswild1000"

9. Grazie Gift-less Christmas
Posted by: "mikeymic" mikeymic@yahoo.com mikeymic
Date: Fri Dec 26, 2008 3:21 pm ((PST))Seems like the shopping events of November and early December would
qualify as old news by now.But it dawned on me this morning that only one of the Venetian Grazie
Gifts has arrived. And that's from being invited to the "special"
opening day November 1. Somehow it doesn't feel very special any more.Don't misunderstand me - I'm not posting to gripe about poor service.
There are procedures in place for handling that sort of thing.Instead, I guess I am wondering why the Venetian would undertake
a task that they don't do well. Last year, same thing - guests (some of
whom lost $1000's there) waited and waited while MGM-Mirage and even
lowly Harrahs got their gifts to guests in a relative flash.Maybe it's just my belief that you can't possibly do all that you do in
life with excellence. That's an impossible feat. But at least try.
