NYNY, Car Rental and Palace Station.

NYNY:
I get to Vegas maybe two or three time a year. I was last there in
Nov and stayed at Bally's. I play a bit of Vp at NYNY and was
disappointed to hear the recently disconcerting news. For a few hours
play on mainly 25 cent machines I was able to get a bit of cashback,
some slight food comp ($20 at their pizza joint) and some tangibles
with the points (hats, etc)-- and this has happened a few times.
My visits have been profitable about 4 out of 10 times. Maybe I am on
their "hit list"!

I like the NYNY vp for its JoB 9/6, Pickem and various 8/5 BP

CAR RENTAL:
Regarding car rental in Vegas, and I have attempted this recently for
only the second time, I have some information. Last year I rented
from Alamo and they apply intimidating pressure on renters to
purchase THEIR insurance. This upcoming trip I am renting from Hetrz
which I found to be the cheapest -- a mid-size car for $199.44 (all
inclusive)for 9 days. I thought joining their club would be
beneficial because they offered discounts to new "signees". I have
an "Entertainment Book" discount coupon. As a club member they wanted
approx $344 for the rental but for a complete "nobody" they have
confirmed a price of $199.44! Hertz has assured me that they apply
no pressure and will accept my insurance.

PALACE STATION:
I will be staying at the Palace Station for 8 days beginning Jan30. I
have a car and am looking forward to not only visiting a lot of the
casinos mentioned by this group but to taking in the nature around
southern Nevada. We did this last year.

Can anybody fill me in about the Palace Station beyond what VPFree
has in its "links"?

Louie-

You sure show it pays to shop around for a car rental.
I stayed at Palace Station several years ago. Tower rooms are nicer than Garden rooms, so try to sweet-talk the clerk into putting you in the tower.
The Italian restaurant is good for a quick, cheap but decent meal. You may have a long wait on a Friday or Saturday night.
I know nothing about their current VP or slot club.
   Best of luck.
