NY-NY Comp Question

We received our first ever comp for four nights at NY-NY. Now we
find out that they have downgraded the JoB.

Should we still take advantage of the comp, even if we don't play
there? Or will this get us on some sort of double secret (or not so
secret) black list forever and ever at all MGM properties.

I should also note that we have already purchased our airfare.

I was thinking we might go and after the first night explain that we
really want to play there, but we can't find the machines we usually
play. Acting like I did not know they had been removed and offering
to check out if we were not going to give them the action we had
planned on. Of course, then we would have to try and get comped at
another hotel or pay for rooms.

Paying would be kind of a let down for our 1st comped trip, but I'm
sure we could get comped rooms downtown, possibly MSS. We do get
offers for free weekday rooms from MSS after only one evening of play
last trip. How much play would be required to get the entire 4
nights comped?

Any other good hotels that at least have a pool?

Thanks,
Jon & Audra

Still waiting for our 1st royal.

Here's a suggestion.

Use the comp and play 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.2%). Here's what the database says about 8/5 BP:
(4) 25c/50c/$1 MG/MD Game Kings between the the Cabaret box office and the entrance to the Bar at Times Square.
You would, of course, have to learn the strategy. And hope they are still there.

At $10,000 per day, the expected cost of BP(99.2%) vs. JB(99.5%) is $30 per day.
Or if you play $5,000 per day, the cost is $15 per day. So you're better off playing at NYNY compared to paying for a room. It's mainly a psychological annoyance (in this particular situation).
I think some play is preferred to stiffing them.
I would think that $5k/day would get you comped rooms and maybe some meals at MSS.
Or make it 2 nights at each.

I assume you're playing quarters, otherwise (if dollars) you would have been playing Pick'em instead of JB (for a difference of $40 per day on 10K action).

Forget the PE idea, all PE is now short pay at NYNY. I would also
venture to say forget the BP idea. A few days ago it was reported
that all 9/6 JOB under $1 and all PE are now short pay. It is my
guess that the BP has also been downgraded but just hasn't been
reported yet (the poster said he only checked JOB and PE but was not
all-inlcusive in his check). Think about it....all of the other
machines were downgraded by the BP wasn't?

IMO, the best play at NYNY is now the triple play progressives. The
progressive Royal at least bumps up the payback of the games a bit.
