Number of Royals

I began playing in August of 2001, played 465 hours at an average of 900 hands per hour (about 10 cycles) and hit NO royals. I realized that somehow my mind was creating these disastrous results and went to work on changing it.

In 2002 I played 911 hours and hit 23 royals.

In 2003 I played 1061 hours and hit 24 royals.

In 2004 I played 1037 hours and hit 35 royals.

Though not controllable, I do know that somehow our mind and feelings do affect results, and see that I AM getting better at it : ) For those (most?) who doubt, here is an excerpt from an article I read yesterday:

"A growing body of scientific data has quantified how the energy generated by our thoughts, particularly our intentions - our emotional, mental and spiritual wishing - influence both living and non-living systems. Studies at a number of respected universities around the world have shown that HUMAN INTENTION CAN CHANGE THE OUTPUT OF MACHINES - PARTICULARLY RANDOM EVENT GENERATORS (REG), the twenty-first century equivalent of an electronic toss of a coin. The most persuasive of these studies was designed and carried out by former dean of engineering Robert Jahn at the Princeton Anomalies Engineering Research (PEAR) laboratory." (emphasis added)

I also highly recommend the movie "What The #&*! Do We Know" (aka What The Bleep).

A rather quick calculation at 40K hands per RF would yield 78 during
this time. You've had 82. A ~5% deviation from the norm. However, ...

I have seen some studies that also show a slight change from expected
results by those "willing" specific results. I've had converstaions
with people who have always been "lucky" and they almost
always "expect" the best. The converse is almost always true as well.

What does it mean? Maybe nothing, maybe something.

Did you watch the recent PBS specials on "intention"?
