Enjoyed your Dantesque trip report,
Per me si va ne la città dolente,
per me si va ne l'etterno dolore,
per me si va tra la perduta gente.
Giustizia mosse il mio alto fattore:
fecemi la divina podestate,
la somma sapienza e 'l primo amore.
Dinanzi a me non fuor cose create
se non etterne, e io etterno duro.
Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate.
Caesars Palace I never thought as Paradiso, but with Bellagio going
to hip-hop and Laughlin reported hellishly tight lately, it must feel
like it.

Chandler, thanks for writing such a fine report. I encourage
everyone to go read this taste of Laughlin.
Commenting on your observations-
River is low- it is true that the river taxis/sceinic cruises were
suspended Feb 15th. There is too much water in Lake Havasu, four
feet over optimum at the Parker Dam. Everyone needs to realize this
water starts in Colorado, flows into 200 mile long Lake Powell, thru
the Grand Canyon, Lake Meade, then Lake Mohave. Davis Dam, just north
of Laughlin is the third dam in the system. They cut the flow to 10%
of normal.
HWY 95-yes the trip is alot safer now between Henderson and
Laughlin. The new bridge by Hoover Dam will take most of the trucks
in 2008.
Quoting your EW advantage play-
"The plan is to give the EW decent play today to take advantage of a
$150 cash offer for 15K in action. On the face of it this adds 1% to
ER, but the helpful vpfree Laughlin forum people have pointed out
that EW may zero out points for taking advantage of the play. I
figure a relatively fast and low volatility way to take advantage of
this promo is to hit the triple play NSUD bartop progressives."
My addendum-
I too had a coupon to burn up for this 1% bonus play. I shot for the
250 point/$2500 coin-in level. I have apparently fallen off the
marketing radar at EW with no mailers for March/April. I thought
$2500 coin-in would be a good experiment point.
I did the River's Edge bar Triple Plays myself. Donation of $90
chasing those healthy royal meters. Start at 1014 points and end at
1268, and then hit the slot club for the voucher. I was 14th in line
with three clerks at 5pm. As soon as I got in line one of the clerks
went on break. Twelve minutes later it was my turn.
Me: I would like to claim my $25.
Clerk: But you only have 249 points of play!
Me: No, started at 1014 and ended at 1268, that is 254.
Clerk: Yes I agree those are the numbers, but the computer shows
249. You must of played some next door at the Colorado Belle.
Me: No, I played just two different bartops at the River's Edge bar.
Clerk: You need another point.
Me: Just give me the $10, I am not standing in this line again!
(blowing steam by now)
Clerk: You don't have to be rude...I will give you the $25 this time.
I can confirm after checking on-line that my cashback points were
reduced (really just not credited towards normal .25% cb) by 250
points. I cannot confirm if I earned any comps for this play. So
Chandler they flush 1,500 points on your account?

=============================
Hi Chandler,
I've read your really terrific TR, while soaking up the AZ sunshine,
Sorry that the financials were so bad, but at least you had fun.
LOL!!
I'll be at the ham & egger, myself, for one night, the end of this
week, prior to I night in LV at FR. I hope I can win some money at
the EW, just to salvage some glory for Chicago! At least, with my
husband for company, I won't lose too much. He tends to look around
for other things to do when we get too far behind.
I'll let you know what happens when we rerurn.
Again, thanks for a very well written and most entertaining TR!
Cheers,
Babe
I enjoyed your very well written trip report. The 1% coupon seems to
have ended in February. I have also used the 1% coupon several times,
and the promotion is really a good one. 1% cash back with the good
plays that the Edgewater offers is still a good play. The problem
that most of us have is, that they do not tell you about no other CB
or comps are earned using this coupon. If they would be upfront about
the 1% coupon we would all feel better about the program. They will
also use comp dollars for some room offers without letting you know.
I am always looking for the fine print, but there is none.

Thanks Babe. I sincerely hope you win back all the money that I lost. Have
fun at Spring Training!

There system of promotions seem to have an awful lot of people
waiting in line at the slot club here. If I'm there again I'll
bypass the line and head directly to the hosts office when possible.
Yes, the points were "flushed" almost instantly. I checked a slot
card reader sometime after I cashed the voucher and they were gone.
We ran about 35K through the machines there and earned less than $20
in One Club comp dollars. We were able to collect CB on all play
except for that 1500 points that they zapped into oblivion.

Age, infanti opus est pari novorum calceorum!
Yeah, and if the card readers would track your play accurately that
would be nice, too.
