NSUD Question

I am curious about a minor discrepancy apparently discovered
between two software tools for learning NSUD. The question
arrives when one is dealt the King, Queen and 5 Spades,
the 3 of Hearts and the 10 of Clubs.

VPSM Advance Strategy Master states a value of .3273 for a
King and Queen "suited" with 2 penalty cards. This value is
just above a Redraw value of .3201.

It seems like the only 2 penalty cards in the above hand are
the 5 (a flush penalty) and the "10" (a straight penalty).
If these are the only penalty cards, should not you hold the
King and Queen of Spades as stated in the above values and/or
hand rankings.

Video Poker for Winners software claims the correct hold is
a Redraw of all 5 cards and places its value at 1.6196 on
a redraw and a value of 1.6167 on holding the suited King
and Queen of Spades.

This is obviously a minor penalty card situation, but I was
wondering which software has it wrong, or am I missing something
in assuming a conflict.

Thanks,
Bob

This is from Tomski's help file for VPSM. This should explain the
difference.

"When playing on the computer with BDPWinPoker or VP Tutor, it will at
times show a different play than may be seen on the VPSM strategy
listing. When this happens, BDPWinPoker or VP Tutor will always correct.
(note this may not be true of other game playing software that sometimes
gives an incorrect play) The strategy listing of VPSM would be too
unwieldy if it were to list every single obscure penalty card situtaion.
For games that return over 100%, it is more efficient to just pick a
reasonable choice, rather than spend precious time searching for the
absolutely best play. This is what is meant by the term "Optimum Play".
The goal is to optimize your net win per hour. By playing more hands on
100%+ machines, one can win more by playing faster with a few very minor
errors, than one could win by slowing down to make sure no mistake was
ever made. (note that on games that return less than 100%, no strategy
or money management scheme can ever make you a long term winner. In
other words, you WILL LOSE period!) However, for those that wish to
explore every penalty card possibility, VPSM provides an excellent
starting point from which to begin your search. Simply look at the EV
listing of each strategy holding, and for the ones that are close in
value, punch in different penalty card situations to see if any cases
are missing."

Thanks Dennis,

As you can see in my reply to Brian, I can now come to grasp
with the problem. I had no idea the help file in VPSM had such
useful information. So again thanks for the info. I never though
of looking there and that the answer was right in front of me.
Which approach do you use when playing this game?
