NSUD progressives at the Atlantis

I see that the Atlantis has a bunch of progressive NSUD machines. Most, though not all, are bartops.
I am curious as to how these work. Is the progressive for natural royals only or other hands like 4 deuces? Is the progressive casino-wide or seperate for each bank?
Finally-the approximate meter rate-if anybody knows or has a handle on the figure.

Feedback:
1) I don't play progressive in Reno because I hear teams of pro's (or locals) routinuely monitor these jackpots and become like vultures when the jackpot is high enough
2) As for the meter rate, do what everyone does -- monitor it when one person is playing and keep tracking of the meters at every $100 coin-in and you will see a pattern. Or play when the place is dead and capture the meter-movement after every $10 or $20 coin-in until the meter movement is known with certainity.

Huh? Anything above grand is an improvement , I hit for $1165.50 at the xanadu
bar 4 years ago,

The "vultures" is who got me into takin VP seriously at the Cal Neva back in the
70"s .

i notice playin on roullette, ( single 0 guys) that sometimes on a of nickle JOB
progs people would pack the machines when royal got above 400.00 & then leave
when the royal hit. strange.

I saw one of the players getting blasted at the Little Nugget later on & I ask
him what happen & why, 5 $1.25 Tom Collins later , my introduction to Tanqurey
gin as the Nugget used high shelf liquor for well drinks in those days , Jim
Beam Canadien club Smirnoff , I had 8 napkins worth of notes that I still
have and I was hooked for ever.

Thank you whoever you are .

Thanks for the info interesting site. I think your right about the pro's here, but NOT for quarters. I have played this last trip about 10 different quarter 101%+ machines and I was the only one on them. Word gets around about the dollar 9/6 progressive. I was playing it at 2AM ( crowded )/$5600 , came back down at 7AM and it was hit , and those machine litterally went dead for the rest of the day

To put things into perspective Stanford Wong's book on Professional Video Poker (for 8/5 JOB & 6/5 JOB for AC) came out in 1988. I know Steve Jacobs releases some VP strategy on REC Gambling newsgroup in the 1980's. So if you said "Tuna" had a working strategy in the '70's that is amazing.

A few more things, SIRCOMA was founded in 1979 -- Si Redd founded SIRCOMA, which later became IGT. My research tells me SIRCOMA came out with 9/6 JOB by giving 800 for 1 for max coins. Si called the game "Draw Poker."

If it was the 1970's as you claimed, then you were taking about Dale Pokermatics or Bally Computer Poker, not IGT machines. Plus you mentioned these machines were "progressives."

I think you "embellished" the story a bit.

keep thinkn & keep reserching LOL

used to sit with a pad & pencil & try to figure out the correct plays, pass our
notes back & forth, casinos didnt know anything and didnt seem to mind as they
stilll thought just another slot machine.

Not amazing at all, those of us with a razz backround were use to figuring the
number of outs, some people just smart and can just flat hustle.
what mickeycrimm can do with simple calculator is amazing. Plz read his prior
posts

EZ to figure that 9 thru king straight flush was better drawing to 4k coin
royal . playin that way was hard ; )

"47 to 1 shot , 16 times 250 = 4k plus the flushes ,straights and high pair you
could draw to= don't draw "

That's not my point. I was talking about a bona fide VP strategy and only Jazbo had a software that could analyze VP strategy until Wolf Gaming broke that monopoly.

Except mickeycrimm is not credible when he wrote on this forum many times about a certain Video BJ by IGT that had over 100% payback off the top (H17, BJ pays 5 for 2, DAS 10, LS 10, no soft double, 6-card autowinner, split aces catch face pays 5 for 2). The game returns less than 100% based on computer-perfect play. I know because some professional blackjack players wrote software that cycled through every possible hand and the game was less than 100% payback and I have one set of the 25-page output. mickeycrimm may work a simple calculator, but that is not the same computer perfect play.

So what does mickeycrimm do when confronted with this fact, he kept to his tune that the game was over 100%. Go figure.

Well Mickey was sort of right about the IGT BJ.

Using the wizard of odds site as a reference, which I think is a pretty good reference site.

Base game (Single deck, DAS, H17, LS, D10) shows:

Optimal 0.29931%
Realistic 0.45101%

WOD also shows 6 card charlie as +0.16% and BJ on split aces as +0.19% which would put the optimal return as 100.06%.
