The Casino du Montreal several years ago became a non-smoking casino.
A good thing too, in my opinion, because those Frenchies (no offense,
I really love them), can really smoke! There has been no loss of
business, I assure you! The place is packed all the time. What they
did to accommdodate the addicted was to install glass enclosed rooms,
one on each floor I believe, where smokers can sit, congregate, and
indulge their habit, without fouling the air for the general public.
The smoking rooms are large and have nice chairs and couches. The
effect on the atmosphere in the rest of the facility has been
remarkable. Apart from the 6/5 Bonus and other appalling paytables,
the Casino du Montreal is now a very pleasant experience, lacking none
of the color and excitmment we expect to find in a major casino.
I'm sure the casino operators here can find a way to enclose the
smokers, and let the rest of us play without being poisoned. If
they're not sure,a short flight to Montreal would provide all the
instruction they need.
